Navman Wireless is adding a GPS-based speed monitoring service for its OnlineAVL2 fleet tracking system. The service, made available through a partnership with SpeedGauge, can be added to any of Navman Wireless’ monthly subscription packages.

SpeedGauge, a provider of business intelligence and location-based analytics for the trucking and insurance industry, says it is taking speed monitoring to a new level.

SpeedGauge provides speed tracking on streets and highways around the world, but now with the release of SpeedGaugeAnywhere, fleets can create speed zones around any custom location that is not subject to government set speed limits.

Dallas-based Brazos Specialty Risk, a mid-market truck insurance provider, has entered into a partnership with San Francisco-based business intelligence and location-based analytics provider SpeedGauge by which the former will gain access to analytics that will help it price risks.

An agreement between SkyGuard and SpeedGauge will result in real-time analysis of speed data by SkyGuard fleet customers. Speed and location data collected by GPS units will be forwarded to SpeedGauge, whose web-based software application will analyze those data points in real time.

CINCINNATI — Concern about driver safety compliance is pushing the purchase of new technology to help fleet managers to see and respond to data on driver performance, manufacturers of the equipment said.

XATA Corporation has announced a reseller partnership with SpeedGauge, a commercial vehicle GPS data provider for speed tracking and analysis. The addition of SpeedGauge to the XATANET application suite will be available in late spring 2010 to new and existing XATANET users.
